Date Night

Dearest hubby took me on a date in this car:To see this movie:

At my favorite theater:

We were sooooo long overdue for a date. For some reason it is hard to get out of the house with three little boys, but it is getting easier and will be a priority in our lives.

I had watched the trailer for the movie No Reservations and thought it looked like a cute romantic comedy (which is perfect when you need to relax and not think, ya know?), however *spoiler* I just wasn't prepared. Not much comedy and punched-in-the-gut sadness. How did I miss that? It was a nice movie and all. I even don't mind sad if I'm in the mood and prepared (Return to Me is one of my favorite movies), but when I'm expecting comedy? I don't adjust well. Maybe it won't affect others the way it did me (I don't do well with tragedy involving children), but there you have it. Don't watch it if you are only expecting comedy.

Getting out of the house was lovely, though. It was nice to sit by my hubby for a couple hours without someone climbing on us or needing something wiped. Thanks, Aunt Shan and Larissa for watching the boys.

  1. Thanks for the "warning". I have been wanting to see this one. Good to know not to expect a comedy so I can go in the right mind-frame.

Glad you got a date. We struggle with that here. We rarely go out alone.

  2. The original Mostly Martha was so good I was unsure about trying the Americanized version. Have you seen that one? How sweet of your husband to take you out, though!

  3. I so agree that trailers often misrepresent the movie.
We did the same last night, for our anniversary - no kids, no clawing, sticky fingers, no "Mom?" to respond to. Just me, my dear husband and Jason Bourne.

  4. I haven't even heard of Mostly Martha... I try to find it! Yeah, hubby is a great sport when it comes to 'date movies' :).

Ooooooh, Jason Bourne. That's gonna be our next date! :)

    Thanks for stopping by, ladies!

  6. We did Jason Bourne for our date this weekend. Ah-MAZ-ing. Fantastic flick. I was sorry it was over and surprised how fast it went by.

Ew on getting tragedy, not comedy. Good for Russ to take you out and to have babysitters (woohoo)!

  7. I've not heard of this film (of course, I'm never up on current or mainstream movies!), but I *love* "Mostly Martha". Could be the German connection, but I know a lot of others who don't speak German and enjoyed it, too. : )

  9. Must be date-night season! I have a post to put up in the next day or two about our date last week. It had been ages since we had gone out. Ours was with Jason Bourne as well. I was so great! I am such a Bourne fan. I reluctantly watched the first one and then got completely into it and could hardly wait for this current one.

Mostly Martha is very good. It has been awhile since I have seen it and recently I have been thinking that I want to see it again.
