The Big Reveal

My chairs turned out exactly as I had hoped. Hard to tell in the pictures, but they are a light pear green to match the school room walls:

Here are the finished children's chairs. I'll be on the look out for a couple more similar chairs (not necessarily matching exactly) to paint. I want a red one!

I'm still working on putting up the frame, and the shutters aren't yet painted. More pictures to come...

  1. Hi Heidi

You are one busy lady - a very inspirational one at that. Love the chairs in the first picture - very striking.

    The children's chairs are delightful.

Looking forward to checking out more pictures featuring your creativity in all of it's glory.

  5. The kids chairs are perfect! I hope that you will share you step by step...how you prepped them, type of paint, rub on letters or hand painted? Please share! I love my little daily fix of Mt. Hope Chronicles!

  7. Oooh! Very pretty! Did you use any certain kind of paint - or a glaze on top to protect from dings and such? I have a couple of chairs that I'd like to paint but keep wondering what paint to use (one is a youth chair for at the dining room table).

  9. Thanks everyone. I was really pleased at the way they turned out. It looks like I might be getting another chair or two from a friend, so I'll post the how-to and paint colors with in-progress pictures soon. :)

  11. Looking good!

Mind sharing the steps that you used? How well do you think the finish will stand up to scrapes and scratches?

  14. Thanks again, ladies. I promise I didn't do anything special or technical. :) Specific answers next week.

Too many hats~ I haven't painted the shutters yet because I don't know where I'm putting them (and so I'm not sure what color...). I plan on lightly sanding them and then spray painting. (First primer and then color.) No way I'm doing them with a brush. :)
