TV. If kids are entertained by two letters, imagine the fun they'll have with twenty-six. Open your child's imagination. Open a book. ~Author Unknown
The time to read is any time: no apparatus, no appointment of time and place, is necessary. It is the only art which can be practised at any hour of the day or night, whenever the time and inclination comes, that is your time for reading; in joy or sorrow, health or illness. ~Holbrook Jackson
If you have never said "Excuse me" to a parking meter or bashed your shins on a fireplug, you are probably wasting too much valuable reading time. ~Sherri Chasin Calvo

LOL...I love the last quote! I have definitely had my moments of running into things! But then I learned how to hone my peripheral vision and now I'm not quite so clumsy if I am reading and walking.
Don't you love it when your kids are fascinated by books...mine can't read quite yet, but they love to pore over the pages and pretend they are reading. I love the pic!
HI my name is Aja. I hope I ma not intruding. I actually found your site over a year ago, and was always reminded of it in our own experiences with homeschooling and while also using resources from Well-Trained Mind. I actually did my VisualDNA from your link many months ago. Anyhow, I wanted to take a minute to say I enjoy learning about your lessons in homeschooling and your talent with photography. I love love love taking pictures but I am still quite the ameteur.
I look forward to hearing about your coming school year... how many of your boys are in school this next year? We have three also, two girls and a newborn boy. Our girls, Hannah (7) and Sara Kate (almost 4) are enjoying their lessons alongside one another this next year.
Now for the life of me I cant figure out how I made it to your blog... but I have finally added to mine to keep it close at hand... since you have many resources and similiar habits and patterns as I do... which offers quick and easy resources for not only homeschooling and photography... but reading as well. As my husband is a manager for Amazon.com... I also am a frequent shopper!!
Again, sorry for any intrusion... I just wanted to thank you for the inspiration and resource you have been for some time.

Love it!!! I bet you get lots of warm comments while pushing around a cart full of such handsome bookworms!
Aja~ Of course you aren't intruding! That's why I have a blog. :) I love meeting new blog friends. Thank you so much for introducing yourself!
We are going year-round with our homeschooling schedule at this point, with our year starting in January, but we'll be refocusing and getting down to business again in September. I'm sure I'll be posting more general updates and plans soon. Levi will be continuing his studies and Luke (4) will be joining us in increasing amounts according to his attention span. :)
Thanks again for taking the time to comment and say hello!
:) About the "copying" idea, I believe you. I got one of my quotes off your site so ...
I should try the books in the shopping cart idea! I just try to avoid taking the boys shopping with me, period.
Heidi I emailed you through the contact on your profile... I wanted to talk to you regarding your links on your sidebar regarding your homeschool. I must say, amazing organization chica!!
Have a SPLENDID holiday!
Aja
Oh! I just noticed that I must have been signed in under my husband's account and not my own when I commented. :) So 'timothy' was/is me.
