Saturday night we headed over to the park to hear Little River Band in concert.
Leif thought it was terrific, but he wanted to dance all over the place (running here and there), so we had to take a walk.
The night was beautiful!
We headed to our car when the last song was playing. We watched the whole fireworks show from there. The view was terrific...and no crowds! (Pretty pitiful picture. It really was a nice display!)
Russ went out early the next morning with Leif to chase hot air balloons.

Later that evening we had a belated birthday party for Leif.
Monday night we played softball at my parents house, again. No pictures. What was I thinking?!
I have some fun photos to show you of an event going on this week. Maybe I'll have them up Friday.
Other than that, it is normal life around here. School should probably start next week. The school room is an abysmal disaster, and I have tons of planning to do!
The book stack on my bedside table is ridiculous. The Olympics really cut into my reading time.
Library fines are piling up. My laundry pile has overtaken my bedroom... I know. I'm killing you with all the excitement.
What about you? What are you up to this week? Ready for school to start? (Or has it already started?) Does it feel like summer still lingers, or is it heading out the door?
We started school middle of last week an are already behind! How sad is that? Each day I think, "OK, I'm going to go gangbusters, focus, focus, focus..." And then something points up on the daybook unexpectedly. But isn't that one of the benefits of homeschooling - you're not bound to death by a schedule.
ReplyDeletethose are all great pictures!
ReplyDeleteschool starts for us on tuesday. we're trying to enjoy this last week of summer. it went so fast.
We're starting mid-September, and I'm still planning. I did the BIG plan mid-summer, but am working out the day-to-day. On some level I'm trying to get our learning area re-organized, but I haven't actually put much away yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos! Your boys are so gorgeous and happy, I love seeing how they play. Reminds me of my childhood on the farm back in Canada. :D
ReplyDeleteWe're starting our very first year of homeschooling on the FIRST...eeek! :) I am excited and terrified all at the same time. I am the one creating the curriculum as we are on a shoestring budget, so I hope the boys really enjoy what I have cooked up for them.
ReplyDeleteMost of all, I just want it to glorify God :)
So ready or not, school starts next week!
They are excited and keep asking me how many days until school starts...please Lord, let that exuberance continue! :)
Great pics! Summer is still here, but not in a good way. It is humid, rainy and the mosquitoes are about to eat us alive! We love summer until the last part when the bugs are truly unbearable! We are looking ahead to fall now and staying indoors more. (My energy to take them to the pool has faded now. I don't bring it up unless they ask! :) ) I love outdoor concerts. Does it get any better? :) This is our third week of school!
ReplyDeleteWe started last week and had a great time! We are trying to get a head start since I know we have some stuff planned in September that we will pause school for. We are looking forward to an exciting year! :)
