How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.
At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.
What a beautiful picture! Don't you just love fall?
ReplyDeleteWe're having so much fun playing in the leaves at our house!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love pictures of tree corridors!
ReplyDeleteI love it! What a picture it paints. Your photo is beautiful and inspiring. Autumn is my favorite time of the year.
ReplyDeleteWhere or which book did you find that poem in. I think I will use that one in our Language arts lesson for the kids to learn. They are enjoying learning poems. Plus I can tell they take pride in learning & being able to recite these to us & others. I ordered one of the books with a CD that you recommend for poetry & we listen to it in the car a lot.
Thank you for so much help & encouragment in this homeschooling effort.
Sarah~ I find many poems online when I'm looking for a specific subject or theme. I'm so glad that you are enjoying the poetry book recommendation!
