Imagine, then, my ecstasy at walking onto Space Mountain. The board said it would be a five-minute wait. They were only half right. It was a five minute walk to reach the ride.
The lines, or I should say absence of lines, were unbelievable to me. We walked on (or spent very little time waiting) for Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, and even California Screamin'. It often depended on when we happened to hit each ride, but we were lucky. Apparently the end of October is an excellent time to visit Disneyland. Beautiful weather, few people.
If only we could have been so lucky on the ridiculous Nemo Submarine ride. Why is it that the silly little kid rides had the longest lines? Well, I suppose every other kid wanted to go on them...just like mine.

I've been to Disneyland when it was almost empty. It's very nice not to wait in line forever [smile].

Now that is the way to do Disney!

OH OH!! I would love to see more of the Nemo ride... it wasn't up yet when we were back there. I remember the first time I went as a child it was still the submarine ride. My mother informed me that she was claustrophobic(sp?). That was my first encounter with that term... and I didn't like it. Soon after that they closed the ride. And it stayed closed until this time. It was a brilliant idea to create a Nemo experience out of it!! Forward any pictures you may have of that ride, if you get the chance...

We went last year the week after Thanksgiving - it was perfect just like your experience. We did Nemo first and only waited about 20 minutes but the rest of the time we were there, the line was hours long - Space Mountian is my favorite ride, I would have just kept going over and over :) Pirates was so dead when we went they let us stay on the boat and go twice!
I am loving all your vaction photos!
We are going to Disney World in January. I'm hoping to see the same lack of lines you experienced!
Now that is my kind of vacation!
