A Beginning

I had a chance to dig in to my Christmas decorating on Saturday. There are a few odds and ends that need to be finished up by Thursday, but I thought maybe you would enjoy a little peek at the top of my piano. More pictures later this week...

Beautiful! I love your *Winged Victory*! We got to see the real one in the Louvre on our honeymoon and she was absolutely breathtaking....Looking forward to seeing more pics soon:)

Ah, Winged Victory! Beautiful. I'd love to have decorations like that on my piano, but my twin boys have at this point broken the glass of two picture frames that were on there, so I'm keeping only things I won't mind being destroyed on there as I train them to stay off of it.

OH MY GOODNESS!! What is that statue and where do I find it? That it beautiful!! Come by and drop me a note... I WANNA know bad where you found that piece!! And I oh so love the frame on the wall. I have two frames up in our home the same way. Paul thinks I am insane for hanging a bare frame... but I quite like the look. I love it... each day it seems there is one more thing that makes me think we are long lost twins or something. Its like parallel universes or something. Not trying ot seem eerie... but with all our commonalities... you make me look good!! HAH!!

Beautiful work lovey!!

PS Glad your not going to Ireland... I worry when people fly internationally... all that water in between gives me chills. Anyhow, aside from the water... I would have considered being your stow away for the sites alone.
Its a shame I dont think I will ever be able to travel abroad... thinking of all that water paralyzes me. I had a heck of a time studying bodies of water with Hannah here these last few weeks. Then we hit the caves... and I about passed out thinking about it. WHEW!!

Aja~ You crack me up! I left a message over on your blog, but for anyone else interested, the statue is a reproduction of The Winged Victory which resides at the Louvre (description here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winged_Victory_of_Samothrace ) It is absolutely breathtaking in person. I have no idea where to find another statue like the one I have. So sorry about that.

Isn't it funny what our minds do to us on certain things? I probably would have a total flying phobia if I thought about it... Hopefully it won't keep me from visiting Ireland some day! :)
