Self Portrait

It takes courage to grow up

and become who you really are.

~e.e. cummings

It is self-portrait week at i heart faces.

The Rule: We must be holding the camera for the photo.

I am particularly looking forward to viewing all the entries this week.

  2. Oh my word...Heidi! That is stunning. I love the lip creases especially. You should see all the ridiculous pics I tried to take of myself for a facebook profile pic! How in the world did you pull that off? You are amazing and completely gorgeous. ~Tera

  6. Hi Heidi! Your photo is wonderful! And I love the e.e. cummings quote. Are you leaning up against a brick wall? The effect is so soft.

  13. I edited this photo a couple weeks ago, and worked on it a while. I didn't keep track of the edits, so I have no clue, LOL. I used both photoshop CS2 and picnik. When I took the photo, I was leaning against a brick wall (overcast day), and held the camera slightly up from my face with just my right hand. I took so many photos to get this one, and came very close to dropping my camera more than once. ;-) Thanks for all the kind words, everyone!!

  27. Oh, I love the processing of this, the high contrast, the appropriately blown out skin, the emphasis on your eyes. Amazing that this is a self portrait! (Thanks for your comment on the judge side. Looking back, it seems like I wasted so much time trying not to be me. If I can help someone avoid that waste of time, I will feel very good about myself now!)
