The kids spent a bunch of time at the wonderful play area, while Char provided a picnic and I sat in the shade. By the time I had the boys rounded up and hiking toward the entrance, we were hot, hot, hot. The boys had discovered a fountain at the beginning of our day, which I managed to keep them out of, but we passed it again and I thought, Why not? Why not, indeed. In they went. I watched them whistfully. Why do I have to be the sensible adult? (That, and driving all the way home with soaking wet jeans didn't appeal to me. Luke didn't seem to mind, though.)
Homeschoolers have all the fun. Grin.
Your photos tell quite the story! Thanks for sharing your day at the beautiful, fun gardens! I LOVE your shadow shot and the one with the rainbow! Great collages, too!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the shadow shot! This is another place we have yet to visit. I had no idea they would even have a homeschool day. Do you know of any site that lists places in Oregon that have homeschool days? It would be nice to look at one spot and get this kind of info. Maybe I need to start making one myself...
ReplyDeleteElaine~ I belong to an Willamette Valley homeschoolers email loop which is where I find out about many of these things. I think it would be awesome to have all that info in one place, like a web site or something! Evergreen Aviation is having a homeschool day next Thursday (the 24th). They don't have anything on their website about it... I think you have to call to register for the classes. We're hoping to make it! Oh, and the Renaissance Faire is this weekend. Wahoo!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures(as always)!!! Looks like it was a beautiful, fun day! :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Even though it's a bit far for us to get there, that may be worth a trip next year! That's such a great spot! And it would be totally cool if there was one spot that had that info posted!
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous day! looks like the boys had a blast. I so totally love your shadow shot!!
ReplyDeleteHeidi--I love the last shot--the wet jeans and the fountain. You have a way of capturing "the moment." I really enjoy looking at your photos (as well as your blog).
ReplyDeleteOh, love the gardens! Great photos! Elaine and Heidi, we would love to meet you guys at the Aviation Museum on Thursday, let me know if that would work for you. ~Connie in Tualatin
