I had a vision for my new year, 2014—my year of 40.
January 1st was to bring a wondrous unveiling of a magical new world here at Mt. Hope Chronicles.
Big dreams. Big plans. Couldn’t pull it off. For various reasons. (Partly this, but mostly this.)
Rather than allowing myself to be stymied by my default all-or-nothing mentality, I’m going to try a one-snowflake-at-a-time approach. And eventually the world will be transformed.
Consider this book list post the first snowflake.
Can you guess my theme for the new year?

ReplyDeleteI'm going to surmise that you'll be writing a book and that I'll buy 25 copies because you are my life coach and most wonderful inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteHeidi - this made me emotional to look at and read. (And many in that stack are well-loved favourites of mine! I wish I could discuss them with you!) If I can do anything to encourage you on your journey please let me know. You have been a rich encouragement to me!
ReplyDeleteMisha
I love seeing other people's book lists. Hope to read some of these this year.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what you're up to exactly, but as long as you are somewhere where I can keep up with you, I'll be happy!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I like your friend Holly's guess, that would be fun!
Ha! Not writing a book. I cannot fathom what I'd write about. I'm still trying to find my vision. This year will be more learning about writing and practicing. I'm definitely not at the rhetoric stage yet. :) Thanks for the votes of confidence, though!!
ReplyDeleteTheme: story?
ReplyDeleteI'm reading A Million Little Ways right now and loving it! Wish we could discuss it over coffee.
ReplyDeleteAnd last year I read the whole HP series plus the John Granger book you have on your list, although I believe the newer edition is called "How Harry Cast His Spell." VERY interesting, and I think a must-read for Christians who want to look at the series in a deeper way and also struggle with questions about reading it.
Great list!
