I’m participating in the 52 Hike Challenge this year. At least a mile outdoors. Repeat hikes are acceptable (I’ll probably be doing two favorite locations almost monthly).
This week is crazy busy, and I wasn’t sure when or where I would fit in a hike. But I had a couple hours free this afternoon and noticed that the weather was gorgeous, so I drove down the road, parked, and set off with Lola on her bike.
5.5+ miles
Easy terrain
43 degrees
Sunny
Blue skies, green fields, white clouds, muddy sheep, twiggy trees, red barns, vapor trails, bare vineyard, barking dogs, chirping birds, friendly waves, simple picnic, quaint bridges, mill creek, farm tractors, winter crops, brisk air, warm sunshine.
Fresh.
Invigorating.
Delightful.
What a fun challenge! It will be fun to follow along as you post.
ReplyDeleteI won't be *officially* doing the 52 weeks, but your post inspired me to MOVE, and hike. we live in a neighborhood with nature trails, my husband has been carving out for my sons (airsoft/dirtbikes, etc..) But we have amazing trails at the Botanical Gardens I've sworn I'd walk. Now I'm committed. Not to mention the amazing nature trails that are going on my agenda. For reelz. :)
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see where you go, 'off the beaten path.'
Happy New Year!!
Thanks for this fab post!!! We did this as a family last year... didn't sign up for it, just did it... and we loved it so much that we have begun all over again this year... You have inspired me to blog about it... I think I will write a review post on all the adventures we went on!!!
