1st Day of School ~ A Gazillion Photos

I may be breaking my number-of-pictures-in-one-post record here, but I couldn’t pick and choose. (These photos are real time, not make-up posts from past months.)

But, wait. Let me start at the beginning.

And, because I know someone is going to ask me {grin}, this is McDowell Creek Falls and trails—about 25 miles/40 minutes from our house.

Not much water this time of year. These falls are raging in the spring.

We brought Aunt Shannon and Baby Rilla along to play.

I’m a little terrified of the time when this kid is in his teens.

An Anniversary Party

I shared a bit about my grandparents, their 5 week summer visit in July, and their anniversary back in this quick post, but I want to share a bunch of pictures today. We sat in the garden and listened to my grandparents tell the story about how they met and got married. This is family at its best, people. And I couldn’t help but share a gazillion photos, because I loved every facial expression. (If you could only see how many I’m not posting…)

I know I’ve said it a million times, but I’m so behind on posting pictures from this summer. And now it’s fall. And we’re close to starting school (not quite yet, though). And we have tons of activities (which means more pictures) this month.

But my perfectionist tendencies are getting in the way. It takes for.eh.ver. to go through the process of making the pictures look the way I want them to and then getting them posted.

I’ve got to let go of that. Or they will never get posted. So I am planning to just go through and post pictures without much editing. (Ignore the red pixilated dots. I need to get my camera cleaned/fixed, but that just hasn’t been a priority lately.)

Leif is 7!

We hit the COOL! Pool this past week for a belated birthday celebration for my baby boy. He’s seven. That cannot be right.

He was 6 months, SIX MONTHS!!, when I started my blog. And then standing. And then one. And darling. And then two. And then three. Four. Five. Six.

But seven? That can’t be.

His family birthday party was tacked onto the end of our big family reunion, so he deserved a special day to himself. We met Holly, Ilex, Ivy, Jake, Char, McKinnon, and Monet at the splash pool on a gorgeous day.

Then we headed out for frozen yogurt and presents!

(And then, because we hadn’t had enough excitement, we went out for dinner with Bambi and Poppy and Aunt Shan.)
